Karl Ludwig Freiherr von Pöllnitz (1692-1775), German adventurer and master of ceremonies at the court of Frederick the Great, who wrote La Saxe Gallante, 1737 (on the private life of Augustus of Saxony) and the Memoirs on his own life and times, 1734.
